Blue Creek Fire
Photoetry projected on painted tree stump, 24 x 16 inches
Photoetry is my own invention, a way to restrict the construction of poetry to the content of found text that I photograph while traveling. This poem is composed of words contained in a trailside sign at Big Bend National Park. Taking imagery from the historic event's description, this narrative reimagines the scene. To invoke the material content of the poem, I projected the poem onto a painted tree stump for exhibition.
